The Wandle 2.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk is a celebration of 25 years of Home-Start Merton. Home-Start Merton exists to enable families experiencing stress or difficulties to meet the needs of their children 0-8

The top fund raisers for Home-Start Merton will receive a small prize (prizes will be awarded to the top 2 adults and 2 children/young person fund raisers)
As it is a family run/walk all children and young people aged 4-15 years must always be accompanied by an adult on the run/walk.

The run/walk start and finish will be pitch side by the main Tooting and Mitcham Football stand so please do bring along spectators to cheer you on.
The course takes you out of the Tooting and Mitcham Community Sports Club ground across the Bishopsford road and into Ravensbury Park along the Wandle river for 2 laps of the park. There will be a brief section of the course along the pavements of Morden Road and Wandle Road.
The route will take you past the Ravensbury Park play area so if you are running/walking as a family you can have a quick play stop.
Water station to refresh and recharge will be on route (you will pass this twice).
Marshalls will be stationed along the route at key points from start to finish along with clear signage and there will be a First Aid point at the start/finish. In addition to the First Aid point there will be a first aider circulating the route on a cycle bike.
At the end of the race you will be greeted by the Home-Start Merton team and a football stand filled with your family and friends.
There will be a medal for all finishers and a goody bag filled with some snacks so you can recharge.
The Run/Walk Schedule
|9.00am-9.45am||Collect race number from main hall at the Tooting and Mitcham Sports Club|
|9.50am||Warm Up followed by run/walk safety briefing|
|11.30am||All runners and walkers finished|
There will be a FREE raffle on the day for all those who participate and spectate so stick around for a chance to get your hands on a FREE prize.
Whilst waiting for the run/walk you can drop into the Good Ship Lollypop soft play on site (charges will apply)
Drinks/refreshments before and on the day of the run/walk can be bought from the main hall.
Getting to the Venue
Tram: Mitcham Tramlink Stop
Bus: 118 and 280
Tube: Morden Station (Northern Line) then the 118 bus to KNK Stadium
If travelling by tram walk up Tramway Path and turn left on to London Road. Tooting and Mitcham Community Sports Club is a short walk from the station, just on your left once you have crossed the bridge. If you are coming on the tube and are taking the bus from Morden Station, board the 118 bus at Bus Stop C.

Please be aware the bridge on Bishopsford Road will be closed to vehicles so allow plenty of time as there will be a diversion in place
